Precise: Aidan O’Brien confirms Oaks doubt after Epsom hit with rain

Epsom was hit with rain throughout Monday night and Tuesday morning, leaving doubts about Precise and if she’ll be declared or not.

Precise Unlikely To Run In Oaks Due To Ground

The Epsom going has took a hit over the past 24 hours with heavy rain hitting the Downs.

This has led Aidan O’Brien with a tough decision to make for his star miler Precise.

She bounced back to form in the Irish 1000 Guineas last time out after blowing out in the English equivalent a couple of weeks prior to that.

Her defeat at Newmarket was the first time she had been beaten since her debut last July.

But she made up for that massively when winning the Irish 1000 Guineas with ease.

She looks like a miler through and through and it might be the best decision to skip Epsom. See her fascinating Irish 1000 Guineas win below and new quotes from trainer O’Brien.

With Precise potentially coming out, a couple of other Epsom Oaks runners could follow.

Aidan O’Brien Confirms Precise Doubt

The ground is the thing with Precise. We’re just not sure how soft it’s going to be over there. We’re not sure yet whether she will or won’t be declared.

We’ll have to see in the morning as I think they got 20mm overnight, plus a bit more this morning and they’re expecting more rain today and tomorrow.

We wouldn’t want to run her on soft ground when she’s going that much up in trip, so we’ll have to wait and see.
