See my Naas tips for Sunday 17th May 2026 with three selections coming from the County Kildare track on what looks a smashing card.
Naas Tips On Sunday 17th May Include:
It’s a great card at Naas on Sunday as the Irish flat season starts to get interesting.
There is two listed races and two Group 3s in what looks a top quality meeting.
And, luckily it will be live on the ITV Racing schedule alongside Hamilton’s card.

3:56pm – Owenstown Stud Stakes (Listed, 7f): EXPANDED (NB)
EXPANDED clearly had some issues last season as a three-year-old but made a hugely encouraging comeback. He lost by just half-a-length to The Lion In Winter at Leopardstown last month.
I’m hopeful that he’ll come on for that run and get his head in front for just the first time since his debut.
He’s lightly raced having only just six starts up to this point and he can still improve, given he missed a lot of last season.
That form behind The Lion In Winter could be franked depending on where his stablemate finishes in the Lockinge at Newbury on Saturday.
He came from a long way back to just finish second and he should be freshened up for this engagement and I’m expecting him to win.
4:26pm – Coolmore Stud Irish EBF Fillies Sprint Stakes (Group 3, 6f): VELOZEE (NAP)
Paddy Twomey’s horses are in fantastic form with nine of his last 14 runners winning.
I think VELOZEE can take this step up in class in her stride and for me she’s the one to beat.
She just got up on debut at the Curragh winning by only a short head but she improved massively when landing a Listed race when last seen.
With the perfect record of two-from-two and the ease in which she won at the Curragh last time (three-and-a-half lengths), stepping up to 6f should be no problem.
This Sioux Nation filly can win here before moving on to bigger and better things as the season goes on.
5:26pm – Sole Power Sprint Stakes (Listed, 5f): MISSION CENTRAL
I’m keeping it simple with MISSION CENTRAL in the ‘lucky last’, who won a listed race over course-and-distance when weak in the market a few weeks ago.
That was the perfect reappearance run and with that outing under his belt I can see him following up.
He’s holds good two-year-old form behind him and I think he has a class edge against these rivals. This could be a nice stepping stone to Group races further down the line.
Naas Tips – 17/05/2026

- 5:26 – MISSION CENTRAL
Note: I will be playing singles and small treble.
