The man perceived by many to be the best flat jockey in the world, is set to ride Marconi on Saturday in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland.
Connections of Marconi had been toying with the idea of asking Moore to travel over to take the ride on the 3-year-old for a while, as many of the first choice jockeys are riding elsewhere on the day.
Trainer of Marconi, Todd Pletcher said via Racing Post
I spoke to Ryan last week and were looking for a rider as it’s a difficult day for jockeys in the US with big races New York, Kentucky & California.

He also added.
I spoke to some of the Coolmore guys when they were over for the sales and asked if they thought it would be good idea for Ryan to come over. They touched base with him and he obliged.
Pletcher, was also optimistic about the mounts chances on Saturday, who has slowly been getting his act together in his races, what also reads well is Marconi is a half-brother to Breeeders Cup Classic winner, Mucho Macho Man.
Ryan Moore will be heading to the states in high spirits after romping home on Mendelssohn in the UAE derby on the weekend, as reported yesterday, Moore has a tough decision to make in the coming weeks, if he should ride Saxon Warrior in Britain, or fly to the America to ride the impressive Mendelssohn.
But whatever he chooses, in his mindset he must know that this will be good experience riding yet again on American soil this Saturday.
